The Magistrate’s Court yesterday sentenced a local woman to 30 months’ jail after a trial on three charges of shoplifting.
Suzanti binti Ibrahim at first denied making away with six tubs of Nutella spread, two tubs of Nutkao spread and two bags of EQ diapers from a supermarket on the evening of March 14.
She also denied stealing seven tubs of QBB ghee, five trays of grade A eggs and three bags of chocolate powder from a supermarket sometime between noon and 1pm on March 15.
The defendant went on to plead innocent of a charge of shoplifting from a supermarket between 1 and 3pm on March 15, making away with 22 tubs of spreads and a bottle of syrup.
Magistrate Nur Eleana binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hairol Arni found Prosecutor Husna Abidin’s evidence to have proven the defendant guilty of all three charges beyond reasonable doubt. – Fadley Faisal
