Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse presented donations to orphans, single mothers, and underprivileged families at the Tahlil and Doa Arwah Sekampung Ceremony held at the Kampung Sungai Besar Mosque on Sunday, March 23.
Also present were Acting Director of Mosque Affairs Haji Amir Hisyam bin Haji Masri; Mosque Affairs Officer Pengiran Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Awang Rasli bin Taram.
The ceremony began with a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony, which started with a mass recital of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed with presentation of gifts and certificates to the Khatam participants and youth participants also by the minister.
This then followed with the minister presenting donations to 19 orphans, 16 single mothers and underpriviliged families, contributed by residents of Kampung Sungai Besar and an individual.
A Doa Selamat and the Doa Peliharakan Sultan was read by Imam of Kampung Sungai Besar Mosque Imam Muhammad Hazman bin Haji Mohd Hairol Azme. – Lyna Mohammad
