Sultanate to mark Maulidur Rasul tomorrow

The national-level Maulidur Rasul celebration is set to be held at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital tomorrow, corresponding to 12 Rabiulawal 1444 Hijrah.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman observed the dry run yesterday, in his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Major Islamic Events Celebration of 1444 Hijrah.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Ajman bin Haji Meludin and other members of the working committee of the national celebration also attended.

A Dikir Marhaban, special religious talk and recitation of Selawat praising Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) are the lined-up highlights at the event.

Similar celebrations will be held simultaneously at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in the Belait District, Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in the Tutong District and Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in the Temburong District.

Congregants are reminded to conduct an ART test before attending, uploading the results to the Bruhealth app or taking a photo of the results with the date and time included.

Only those who test negative for COVID-19 will be allowed entry, while individuals with symptoms such as a fever, runny nose, breathing difficulty and soaring body temperature are discouraged from attending.

Congregants are also advised to wear face masks and bring along their prayer mats.

The celebration is this year themed ‘Patience, Endeavour, Trust and Supplicate When Facing Test: Seeking Assistance from Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’.

In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Muslims are urged to intensify Selawat and ‘salam’ towards the beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to reap blessings.
