Sultanate records COVID-19 fatality for second consecutive day

For the second consecutive day, the Sultanate reported a COVID-19 fatality over the past 24 hours.

Cases in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance and close monitoring have increased to four, while there are no cases in Category 5 requiring treatment at the intensive care unit.

The latest updates on the COVID-19 situation in the country was shared by the Ministry of Health in its daily report, adding that there were 608 recoveries declared yesterday, bringing the total recoveries to 209,995.

The vaccination coverage for children aged five to 11 with two doses is 81.1 per cent, while 54.3 per cent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been administered the third dose.

The coverage rate in the Sultanate with three shots of COVID-19 vaccine remained at 75.6 per cent, while 7.8 per cent have received the fourth dose.
