Brunei-Muara District
The first committee meeting for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration for Brunei-Muara District was held at Muhibbah Hall yesterday.
Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim as the Chairman of the Committee for His Majesty’s 78th Birthday Celebration for Brunei-Muara District Level for 2024, chaired the meeting.
According to Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubarak, the meeting was held to discuss the dissolution and appointment of committee members for 2024.
He added the meeting was intended to formulate plans and arrangements for the celebrations in the Brunei-Muara District this year.
The acting district officer also shared that the get-together ceremony in the Brunei- Muara District, is scheduled on July 28.
He thanked agencies involved in the celebration for their support.

Tutong District
The committee members for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration in Tutong District held its first meeting yesterday.
Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri chaired the meeting.
Tutong District is scheduled to host the first get-together ceremony with the community this year.
Following a successful celebration last year, Mohammad Sofian hoped the cooperation will continue this year and that His Majesty’s birthday celebration this year, especially the get-together ceremony with the community, will be more lively as a sign of loyalty to His Majesty from citizens and residents of Tutong District. “Let us also ensure the safety and well-being of all participants including students,” he added.
Among the agenda discussed were the preparation of official events in conjunction with His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration, the proposal of sectoral events including religious, community and sporting events as well as the launching ceremony of the 78 times Khatam Al-Quran for mukim and village consultative council members and students.
Legislative Council members Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan, the Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai; and Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub, the Penghulu of Mukim Ukong as well as committee members were also present.
Among the objectives of the meeting is the appointment of the committee members for His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration in Tutong District Level. – James Kon
Temburong District
The first meeting for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration in the Temburong District was held at the official residence of Temburong District Officer in Pekan Bangar yesterday.
Acting Temburong District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed chaired the meeting.
Among those discussed were the description of the National Level Celebration Event and Format of Arrival, the appointment of committee members for His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration in Temburong District Level and co-chairs of the get-together ceremony with the community in Temburong District for 2024.
The agenda also saw the description on the format of this year’s special performance.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir and Acting Assistant Temburong District Officer Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Suhaili were also present. – James Kon
Belait District
The committee for the 78th birthday celebration for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in the Belait District was held at the Santap Hall close to the Belait District Officer’s residence yesterday.
The meeting chaired by Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad saw the formation of the new committee for the celebration.
Haji Amirol Hafidzin expressed his gratitude for the commitment of the departments and agencies and hoped the meeting will continue to foster close collaboration for a joyous celebration this year for citizens and residents in the Belait District.
The meeting continued with a discussion on the preparations for His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration, which included the plans and format of the Ramah Mesra as well as activities and events.
