Decorative arches and colourful lights adorn strategic places in and around the capital as the country is set to celebrate the 78th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
National flags are hoisted high and proud to demonstrate nationalistic and patriotic fervour as a show of love for the monarch and the nation.
Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, which will be the focal point of the celebration, as well as various landmarks around the capital have been spruced up for the upcoming celebration. – Azlan Othman
