Sultan opens Knowledge Convention 2024, addressing mental health issues

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddiem Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the opening of Knowledge Convention 2024 at International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas on Wednesday.

Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik.

This year’s edition of the Knowledge Convention carries the theme “Addressing Mental Symptoms”, and will be carried out for three days.

The annual event is held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration.

At the ceremony, His Majesty delivered a titah and launched two books – ‘Menyambut Hari Keputeraan Raja dengan Semangat Ilal Hijrah’ and ‘Amalan Penjagaan Kesejahteraan Minda Dan Emosi: Buku Panduan Dan Zikir.

The State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned delivered a Special Lecture based on this year’s theme.

The Knowledge Convention 2024 is jointly organised by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports. – ROKIAH MAHMUD
