His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamad, at Istana Nurul Iman Tuesday afternoon.
During the audience ceremony, His Majesty exchanged views with Masagos Zulkifli on matters of mutual importance and the exploration of opportunities for cooperation, specifically in empowering the youth; as well as on international humanitarian aid, among others, the delivery of humanitarian aid in the form of food packages via airdrop – a recent cooperation effort by the Government of His Majesty and the Government of Jordan. The minister also shared Singapore’s previous experience in delivering aid to Palestine.
Accompanying the minister at the audience ceremony were High Commissioner of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam Laurence Bay; and Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) Kadir Maideen.
Also present was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
Masagos is in the country for a three-day working visit on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadhan, from March 18-20.
