Sultan meets intending haj pilgrims

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to a junjung ziarah with intending haj pilgrims yesterday.

Accompanying His Majesty at the event at Istana Nurul Iman was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The intending pilgrims joined a mass Zohor prayer before the junjung ziarah where they received personal gifts from His Majesty in the form of ihram for men and prayer veils for women.

Some 1,035 intending pilgrims comprising 485 males and 550 females, including administrative, medical and haj service operators, will leave the Sultanate for Madinah and Makkah in four flights from June 4 to 7. Five agencies appointed to offer haj packages delivered briefings and conducted courses for the intending pilgrims to prepare them for rituals including Sa’ie, Tawaf and throwing stones at Jamarat.
