His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia yesterday to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new president and vice-president of Indonesia to be held today.
His Majesty was greeted upon arrival at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport by Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
His Majesty then proceeded to walk past the static guard towards the special dais and received the salute of honour accompanied by the national anthems of both Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia, along with a 21-gun salute.
Brunei Darussalam Ambassador to Indonesia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir and Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Dr Achmad Ubaedillah were also present to greet His Majesty.
Earlier, prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty were members of the royal family.
Also present to bid farewell to His Majesty were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; the commissioner of Royal Brunei Police Force; and the commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
