His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, graced the Sovereign’s Parade Ceremony for the 21st intake of officer cadets of the Officer Cadet School (OCS) on Thursday.
Accompanying His Majesty at the ceremony, which was held at the Parade Square of the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces ( DA RBAF) in Kampung Tanah Jambu, was His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty received the Royal Salute and inspected the Parade, which was commanded by 1273 Captain (U) Muhd Shah Redzuan bin Haji Mat Serudin followed with a march-past by the officer cadets.
His Majesty also delivered a titah that among others highlighted the need for a leadership model with the Bruneian character to produce credible military leaders.
This was proceeded with the awards presentation to the best officer cadets of the 21st intake.
The passing out parade saw a total of 64 officer cadets commissioned as officers of the RBAF.
The awards preceded with a presentation of the Sword of Honour to Officer Cadet Awang Muhd Asyraf bin Haji Awang Amin, who holds a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) from London South Bank University, which is the highest award, bestowed by His Majesty to an officer cadet.
