His Majesty, in his titah, also outlined that challenges, such as political, economic and social issues, have risen in recent years, including the impact of the unprecedented and disruptive nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, peoples and governments have had to quickly adapt and be responsive to such challenges.

On the importance on shaping future governments, the monarch underlined that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will lead to changes in the shape and role of governments, economies and infrastructure. In this regard, the UAE is leading the way in the future of governments through pioneering efforts in a number of areas, such as renewable energy and emphasised on the role of the youth as leaders of tomorrow, as they will inherit and implement the nascent policies developed today.

His Majesty also emphasised the active participation of women as leaders in further enhancing the quality of policymaking for a better future.

On the values of peace and stability, His Majesty believed them to be critical for the continued economic progress to secure a brighter future for generations to come. While quoting the words of the founding father of the UAE His Highness Almarhum Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan: “History is a continuous chain of events. The present is only an extension of the past,” His Majesty highlighted the importance of instilling the appreciation for peace in the youth, as their experiences of the world are vastly different from those who came before them, especially those who have seen war and conflict.

In concluding the titah, His Majesty reiterated the importance to ensure a better life for the people, a peaceful world, and the need for future governments to be prepared and responsive, while calling for the need to continue to engage and involve the youth as they are the ones who will realise the plans for future generations.
