Sultan calls on international community to help Gaza

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed hope that the international community can come together to help end the conflict in Gaza, and together bring humanitarian assistance for the people of Palestine.

Concerned over the escalation of violence in Gaza, His Majesty reiterated Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to a long-term peace plan through the two-state solution and achieving an independent state of Palestine.

His Majesty also expressed condolences and sympathies to the Thai families who have lost their loved ones in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

His Majesty said this in a titah during a bilateral meeting with Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, on the occasion of His Majesty’s official visit to the kingdom.

Other relevant issues were also discussed during the meeting.

Besides the bilateral meeting, the official visit also included a welcoming ceremony, the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding, and an official luncheon.

His Majesty was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
