Sultan bestows Raya kurnia to over 18,000

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow kurnia peribadi (personal gifts) to 18,010 recipients nationwide comprising special needs, orphans, the poor, and recipients of monthly welfare assistance in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this year.

The distribution of His Majesty’s personal gifts, in its 15th iteration, aimed at lessening the burden of certain groups in the country.

The ceremony began with the distribution of the personal gifts by His Majesty’s sons, as personal representatives of His Majesty, followed by simultaneous distribution at several designated distribution centres in the four districts.

Gracing the presentation ceremony in the Brunei-Muara District at Istana Nurul Iman as His Majesty’s personal representative was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

On arrival at the Reception Hall of Istana Nurul Iman, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was greeted by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah then presented the personal gifts of His Majesty to 1,000 recipients from the Brunei-Muara District.

Meanwhile in the Belait District, His Majesty’s personal representative to grace the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

On arrival at the Pusat Insani, Seria in the Belait District, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik was greeted by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Jaafar.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Dato Seri Setia Haji Johar bin Haji Muhamad.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik then presented His Majesty’s personal gifts to 1,000 recipients from the Belait District.

Meanwhile, in the Tutong District, His Majesty’s personal representative to grace the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, on arrival at the Tutong Community Hall Complex, was greeted by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Dato Seri Setia Haji Zaimi bin Haji Talip.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen then presented His Majesty’s personal gifts to 1,000 recipients from the Tutong District.

In the Temburong District, His Majesty’s personal representative to grace the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel.

The arrival of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel at the Belalong Hall, Community Hall Complex in Pekan Bangar, was greeted by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Haji Hassan bin Haji Metali.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel then presented His Majesty’s personal gifts to 901 recipients from the Temburong District.

The presentation ceremonies graced by His Majesty’s sons in the four districts indicate the beginning of the simultaneous distributions of His Majesty’s personal gifts at designated distribution centres: Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, Berakas and Bridex Hall, Jerudong for the Brunei-Muara District; Pusat Insani, Seria for the Belait District; and Tutong Community Hall Complex for the Tutong District.

The distribution of His Majesty’s personal gifts reflects His Majesty’s continued care for the welfare of the underprivileged groups in the Sultanate for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
