Some 18,010 underprivileged individuals nationwide were bestowed with personal gifts (Kurnia Peribadi) with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday.
The personal gift which comes in the form of cash comes timely as the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration nears, bringing great meaning and joy to all the recipients comprising those with special needs, orphans, the poor, those facing financial hardships, and those who receive monthly welfare assistance.
In the Brunei-Muara District, a ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, representing His Majesty.
His Royal Highness The Crown Prince presented His Majesty’s personal gifts to a total of 1,000 recipients for the Brunei-Muara District.
In the Belait District, the ceremony was held at Pusat Insani in Seria, where His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, as His Majesty’s personal representative, handed over the Kurnia to 1,000 recipients.
In the Tutong District, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, as His Majesty’s personal representative, handed over the Kurnia to 1,000 recipients at the Tutong Community Hall in Tutong Town.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel was present as His Majesty’s representative in the Temburong District, where 901 recipients received their Kurnia at the Bangar Town Community Complex.
The ceremonies in all four districts on Wednesday mark the beginning of the simultaneous distribution of the Kurnia for selected recipients at designated distribution centres in the respective districts.
