Sultan arrives in Dubai

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Friday arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to attend the World Climate Action Summit.

The summit will be held from 1st to 2nd December 2023 during the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28).

Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai, His Majesty was welcomed by His Highness Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen were greeted by Bruneian citizens in Dubai.

Also present to greet His Majesty on arrival were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the United Arab Emirates Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid.

His Majesty attend the World Climate Action Summit tomorrow, along with other Heads of State and Government.

The Summit will welcome world leaders to present the progress and ambitions across all pillars of the Paris Agreement, providing momentum and guidance for the remainder of the COP.
