    Students to explore halal industry in Japan

    Seven Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) students left for Osaka, Japan on Wednesday to pursue studies abroad under the Osaka University International Certificate Program (Halal, Science, Technology and Innovation) (OUICP-HaSTi).

    The students will be undertaking a Master of Halal Science during their 65-day stay in Osaka.

    The programme is collaborative effort between Osaka University and the ASEAN Campus which includes UNISSA.

    Present to bid farewell to the students at Brunei International Airport was Director at the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre at UNISSA Pengiran Dr Hajah Norkhairiah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim.

    Among the objectives of the programme is to expose undergraduate students to the halal industry in Japan, to conduct research by relating halal to scientific applications and to gain experience of studying abroad. – Azlan Othman
