Some 35 students and seven teachers participated in a writer’s workshop at the Sports School’s premises in Bandar Seri Begawan on Friday.
The workshop, organised by the Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) Education Services, was held in preparation for a nationwide writing competition for government secondary schools.
The event saw Dr Aammton Alias, best known for his book Real Ghost Stories of Borneo, deliver a talk, where he shared his journey as a writer and the sources of inspiration for his books that can be found in bookstores globally.
The session concluded with a lucky draw, where four winners received signed copies of Dr Aammton’s book, while five attendees received CfBT merchandise.
The event also saw CfBT teacher Lucille Borger deliver a workshop on the framework and guidance for creative writing that students can apply to their writing for the competition. – Daniel Lim
