Students, teachers awarded for excellence

Sayyidina Husain Secondary School honoured 59 students and 22 teachers during a graduation ceremony for the class of 2022 recently.

A total of 67 awards were presented to students which included cash awards for the top three students of the cohort while 22 teachers from departments which recorded an increase in percentage credits from the previous year in the GCE O-Level/IGCSE and Student Progress Examination (SPE) were also awarded with prizes.

Head of Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education Pengiran Ali Shafie bin Pengiran Haji Abas was present along with the school’s former deputy principal, Hajah Norinah binti Haji Mokkim.

The school’s acting principal Nor’izzah binti Haji Othman congratulated the students for their achievements and thanked the teachers and parents for their support.

The school’s valedictorian Nur Raqibah Asyiqin binti Mat Mahruf said the key to her success was paying full attention to the teachers in the classroom.

“I would also not hesitate to ask my teachers if I had any doubts regarding the topics taught. Without my teachers, I would not be here standing in front of you all,” she added in her speech.

The highlight of the event was the award presentation to the top three students.

Arriana Chariz Gamido Phua received the Excellent Student award, Nur Raqibah Asyiqin the Model Student award and Najya Alesya binti Mohamad Yusri the Promising Student award.
