Two students from Micronet International College (MIC) expressed their delight when they were announced recipients of a Special Merit Award at a certificate presentation for Bridging Programme in Computing (BriCOMP) and for Universiti Teknologi Brunei and MIC (UTB-MIC) Computing Degree Programme yesterday.
Nur Fatihah Syamsiah binti Bunyamin, who was awarded special merit from BriCOMP said dedication, self-reflection and the support from lecturers and friends, led her to receive the special merit award.
“Every single one of us confronted a fair share of challenges. Those obstacles became the stepping stone for our personal growth, gifting us lessons more valuable than any treasure.
“So here we stand not only for our academic achievements, but as a fellowship of extraordinary individuals who know how to overcome self-doubt and put forward our own happiness,” she said.
Meanwhile, fellow awardee Nur Batrisyia binti Metussin from UTB-MIC Computing Degree Programme said, “Coming from a completely different background, this 14-week programme was not easy. There were moments of doubt, uncertainty, and even fear. But it is during those very moments of difficulty that we truly discovered the incredible strength that lies within us.”
She added, “Through ups and downs, we learnt that we have the capacity to endure the toughest of storms, to adapt to unexpected changes, and to rise above hardships. Each obstacle we encountered served as a valuable lesson, a stepping stone that propelled us closer to our goals.”
Nur Batrisya also said the campus not only served as an aid for her university journey, it also became a place for her to foster lifelong friendships and cherished memories. – Azlan Othman
