Students prep for Science challenge

Daniel Lim

Thirty students recently completed a bootcamp in preparation for the preliminaries of the Seria Energy Lab’s (SEL) Women in Science competition in September.

The bootcamp took place over three Sundays and served to get early feedback and enhance the students’ project proposals, while also improving their skills for the upcoming stages of the competition.

The students were also able to meet experts and professionals to learn how to implement their skills and talents in their work; as well as network with like-minded peers.

The students, aged 13 to 17, were selected based on submitted proposals which demonstrated great creativity, innovation and relevance in line with the theme, ‘Let’s Make the Future’.

From the bootcamp, the participants will be going through the preliminary round assessment.

The top three teams will be chosen for mini-grants to execute projects in their community.

The team with the most impactful project will win the title of Women in Science and SEL Ambassadors.
