A delegation from the Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd (MPC) and postgraduate students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam School of Business and Economics (UBD SBE) are on an eight-day research visit to industries and ports in Guangxi, China.
The group comprising 16 MPC staff members, led by MPC Chief Operating Officer Fazilah bin Haji Yassin, and nine postgraduate students from UBD SBE accompanied by UBD SBE Dean Dr Haji Masairol Haji Masri departed yesterday.
They will visit a number of sites including an international automated port, a solar energy factory, a semi-conductor technology company and the Guangxi University Campus.
UBD SBE said in a statement that the visit’s primary objective is to provide students and academics a first-hand understanding of international port operations, manufacturing, production, research and development, and business ecosystems in Guangxi.
MPC Chief Executive Officer Zeng Caili said the visit also aims at developing human capital, enhancing knowledge and skills in support of Brunei Vision 2035.
The visit is also an initiative to strengthen the relationship between UBD and MPC and continue future collaboration on research, training, and team building. It is the third such visit organised by the MPC, following similar visits in 2019 and 2022. – Lyna Mohammad
