Students learn more about cyberbullying

Some 300 students from Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School in Sungai Akar attended a talk on cyberbullying yesterday.

The talk was conducted by Head of Women and Child Abuse Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) DSP Norkhatijah binti Haji Zainal, along with officers from the Commercial Crime Investigation Division (Cyber Crime) of the RBPF ASP Mohammad Zulhelmi Azmi bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Aziz and C/Insp Adinin bin Haji Ahmad.

The talk began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Haji Azmi bin Haji Redzuan followed by the talk and concluded with the signing of ‘No Cyberbullying Pledge Banner’ led by Acting Deputy Principal (Administration) Zulidi bin Haji Mahali.

Also signing the pledge were representatives of Students Council and peer counsellors.

The talk covered the effects of social media and different types of cybercrimes including sexual abuse and cybergrooming of young girls.
