The Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office through its International Affairs Unit as the Secretariat for the Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) ASEAN Committee for Culture and Information (ASEAN COCI) organised a ‘Get to Know ASEAN’ for 259 Year 8 students from Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School.
The programme was part of the Information Department’s efforts to foster patriotism and unity among the students as well as learn more about ASEAN.
It was also aimed at strengthening ties between the department and the community especially since the students will be future leaders of the Sultanate.
The briefing was delivered by Acting Head of International Affairs Unit Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin.
A quiz was held to test the students’ knowledge of ASEAN and its roles in the region.
The event also saw the introduction of the ‘We ASEAN’ app to the students.
