Some 100 new Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Bolkiah Campus students participated in the Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council (BDAIDS Council) HIV Awareness programme for Peers and Youth (HAPPY) as part of their orientation programme on October 1.
Another 300 new students from IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus also joined the awareness programme as part of their orientation.
Representing BDAIDS Council at both IBTE campuses was Siti Kailene binti Mohd Jazlan Kashfi.
She shared the latest statistics on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and teenage pregnancy. She also said these can be curbed using abstinence.
HAPPY is a youth-led project that combines audio and visuals as well as an interactive activity to raise awareness.
