Laksamana College of Business (LCB) hosted the second Work Readiness Programme for their graduates, alumni and students to make them work-ready.
During the four-day programme, students were taught how to showcase their skills to potential employers and be prepared for job interviews.
The morning session started with a briefing from LCB lecturer Amrina followed by a panel discussion on “The 21st Century Employability Skills” by Head of Research, Research and Innovation Section, Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin; Learning and Development Manager at Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd Marzalenie Haji Omar; and Managing Partner at The Collective Arts Shinny Chia, moderated by Core Member of Young Professionals Network Brunei Angie Ang.
In the afternoon session, speakers from the Manpower Planning Employment Council and JobCentre Brunei shared insights into iReady as well as the upskilling and re-skilling programmes.
The students also had a session on how to write a CV and cover letter effectively and efficiently.
Students worked on their CVs under the supervision of LCB lecturers to be used in walk-in interviews held on the final day of the programme today where companies from various industries will conduct interviews with the students.
