Fifty-five Year 11 students of St Margaret’s School celebrated their graduation in a ceremony at the school’s hall on Saturday.
The ceremony began with the procession of the graduating Year 11 Science, Arts Blue and Arts Red students dressed in their graduation attire.
This was followed by the singing of the national anthem and school song led by the school’s choir.
Principal Liew Yong Kim said, “The significance of this ceremony is not simply for the presentation of graduation certificates, but also an official acknowledgement and recognition that they are ready to set off on the next lap of their journey.
“Many of the graduating Year 11 students have been housed and educated in this school since early childhood, and all the teachers and staff help in shaping them.”
Meanwhile, a member of the board of governors Simon Lee Fui Khen presented certificates to the graduates.
The ceremony also saw a video presentation from Year 11 students and Malay and Chinese dance from primary school students. – Daniel Lim
