Six undergraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) School of Business left Brunei for a six-month internship programme at Piper Aircraft, Inc in Florida, United States, under the UTB ExperiencePLUS programme.
The group marks 10th internship cohort to Piper since the educational partnership between UTB and Piper Aircraft, Inc began in 2013. The students, Mohammad Aminuddin bin Mohammad Damarol, Muhammad Syafiq bin Haji Suni, Adrian Kok Voon Li, Mohammad Alif Shauki bin Mohammad Sufri, Insyirah Islam binti Mohammad Taib and Nur Syafiqa Haziqah binti Mohd Noh have excelled academically and performed well throughout a rigorous selection process conducted by Piper and the university.
They are accompanied by Senior Assistant Professor from the School of Computing and Informatics Dr Hajah Wida Susanty binti Haji Suhaili.
UTB Deputy Registrar (Academic) Elizah binti Radin Ismail, Muhammad Aqwa Abbas bin Haji Omar Dani from the Investment Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Faculty of Engineering Dean Dr Tan Soon Jiann, Faculty of Engineering Deputy Dean (Research) Dr Mohammad Yeakub Ali as well as representatives from the Registrar’s Office, Corporate Communications Office, Student Affairs Office, Religious Unit and Faculty of Engineering staff were present to bid farewell.
During their internship at Piper, students will gain industry exposure and enhance their practical and industrial skills as part of their undergraduate studies. Meanwhile, participating staff will benefit from opportunities for knowledge transfer and professional development, crucial in supporting UTB’s strategic plans for achieving international recognition.
