The strengths of Brunei tourism lies in its eco-tourism, rainforest and biodiversity; community-based tourism, an increasingly popular package for tourists who seek cultural, authentic and meaningful experiences; and Islamic tourism, such as the Mesra campaign, where Islamic values are incorporated into customer services within the hospitality industry.

This was said by Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Muhammad Nazmi bin Mahali during a briefing for Laksamana College of Business (LCB) students on Monday.

He highlighted how tourism campaigns can provide employment and businesses opportunities in the local industry in the form of new products and travel packages.

The briefing aimed to share the expected outcomes of domestic tourism campaigns and how they can revive the tourism industry now that pandemic restrictions have been lifted.

The students were also introduced to the Rediscover Brunei campaign, an initiative to bring back domestic tourism, and the Kenali Negara Kitani (KNK) initiative to stimulate the local market. Muhammad Nazmi also spoke on local events, such as Brunei’s Gastronomy Week, Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition and Brunei December Festival.
