Kuala Belait Primary School Year 3 and Year 5 students participated in the Cleanliness Awareness Briefing conducted by the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board recently.
The programme saw Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board officers deliver briefings detailing the positive benefits of maintaining a clean environment.
The briefing also included the fines levied for those who litter on public premises, which is part of Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act. The students also participated in the sorting games, where they were able to categorise which pictures represent proper trash disposal in public premises.
A poster was also handed to the school as a reminder on the importance of keeping the surrounding environment clean.
The Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board also conducted similar briefings for students of Ahmad Tajuddin Primary School and Muhammad Alam Primary School; as part of the municipal board’s continued initiative to raise and instil awareness on maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding environment, especially among the youth. – Daniel Lim
