Thirty students’ artworks were selected for the launch of Hangzhou Asian Games Painting Competition Postcards on Saturday night during a ceremony that also celebrated the success of Brunei sports delegation at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo said, “The Hangzhou Asian Games and the Asian Para Games showed us that sports have no borders – Asia is a whole big family, and humans beings are all connected. Sports is not only competitive, but also a bridge of friendship and a symbol of unity.”

Meanwhile, Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Julaihi bin Mohamad/Mohamad said, “The embassy collaborated with the MoE in organising the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games Painting Competition from August 11 to October 10, 2022, open to Year 4 to Year 6 students in the Sultanate.”

He added, “The competition received an overwhelming response, with 161 submissions from 31 schools nationwide. The top 30 artworks will be launched as postcards for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.”

Julaihi also said, “The competition also provided a platform for youth to learn about the culture of China and strengthen mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.”
