Students are the nation’s most valuable assets: Permanent Secretary

Among youth, students are the most valuable assets in the country, driving the nation’s development and achieving Brunei Vision 2035, said Permanent Secretary (Wawasan) at the Prime Minister’s Office Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad yesterday.

“As future leaders, students have to be given quality education and training so that they can play a more active and effective role in the development of the country.

“Therefore, the government’s efforts in raising the quality of education and human capital development is important for achieving the goals of Brunei Vision 2035,” said the permanent secretary during the opening ceremony of Cohort 3 of Program Jati Diri (PJD) in the Temburong District yesterday.

“PJD is an example of an initiative that shows the close cooperation between the government, educational institutions and private sector in working together to produce educated, highly skilled and accomplished people “The programme helps produce a market-ready workforce, benefitting not only the individual but also the nation’s economy.

“The Prime Minister’s Office welcomes efforts from educational institutions and stakeholders, either from the government or private sector, to work together to increase knowledge and skills while strengthening morals and embracing the philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy.”
