I am writing in regards to open burning in residential areas amid the current heatwave.
Our country has been recording unusually high temperatures since early May. Our meteorological department, as well as its counterparts in the region, have been warning the public that such extreme heatwaves will last until September or October. Even haze is expected to return.
As such, I would like to appeal to the authority to consider prohibiting open burning in all residential areas to reduce our contribution to the already hot weather conditions by bringing more heat and smoke to the mix.
