Stepping up to make an impact

Deloitte Brunei is playing a part in making a difference, with over 60 employees collectively stepping forward for Impact Month – an annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to the community celebrated across firms globally.

A blood donation drive was held at the Ministry of Health recently, in conjunction with World Blood Donors Day.

Deloitte and Touche volunteers stepped forward to make a contribution.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar also participated, interacting with blood donors while spreading awareness on the Infectious Diseases Act.

In alignment with Deloitte’s World Climate initiative, representing the firm’s global strategy to encourage decisive, measurable and responsible climate choices in the hope of moving towards a more sustainable world, and Brunei Darussalam’s national target to plant 500,000 new trees to combat climate change, Deloitte organised a tree-planting initiative.

Deloitte reached out to the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) to help plant saplings at Pentagon Park. Over 30 volunteers participated in the event, with special collaborators from Deloitte’s Malaysia and Vietnam offices.

Additionally, over 30 Deloitte volunteers recently spent a day applying fresh paint and sprucing up the Learning Ladders Society centre.
