Stay vigilant despite absence of restrictive measures, says minister

While the Sultanate will see the lifting of restrictive measures tomorrow, it does not mean the public should do away with the need for vigilance against COVID-19 and threats from other diseases.

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday, adding that the Sultanate is not “fully endemic” yet.

“Apart from following the current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines, we now have to report flu and other diseases and receive treatment, which will make the cycle of health easier to deal with,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham assured the public that the pandemic is under control despite the Sultanate recording over 300 new cases yesterday.

He said the ministry will continue to monitor the development in the Sultanate, especially cases in categories 4 and 5, which require respiratory assistance and intensive care treatment.
