State decoration recipients express gratitude

Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Dato Paduka Seri Mohamad Andika Perkasa expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for being bestowed the Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang First Class (DPKT), which is his second bestowment from the monarch.

He also conveyed his appreciation to His Majesty for the trust placed in him and the Indonesian Defence force, showing the commitment between the two defence forces.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh said of the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei First Class (PSNB): “It is a tremendous honour to receive the state decoration from His Majesty.

“This is an immensely meaningful milestone for me on a personal level, which will become a driving force for me to lead the Ministry of Education in carrying the education agenda forward for all Bruneians, particularly towards realising Brunei Vision 2035.”

The minister also conveyed her birthday greetings to the monarch and prayed that His Majesty will be blessed with great health and longevity.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad who was also bestowed with the same medal, expressed junjung kasih to His Majesty.

He pledged to provide upmost commitment in the service delivery along with the support of officers and department heads to achieve the ministry’s strategic objectives.

The minister also highlighted several economic diversifying efforts in the creative and artistic sector such as production of kain tenunan, sinjang and Islamic calligraphy that possess cultural values, which have the potential to attract international interest.

Recipient of the Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Second Class (DPMB) Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman expressed gratitude to His Majesty for recognising her service over the past 25 years.

“Insya Allah, under the leadership of His Majesty as the Chancellor of UTB, I will continue to do my best in pursuing all initiatives and efforts for UTB and the country.”
