Sri Lanka Customs reports LKR1T revenue in eight months

COLOMBO (XINHUA) – Sri Lanka Customs reported a revenue of LKR1 trillion (USD3.3 billion) during the first eight months of 2024, according to a statement from the President’s Media Division (PMD) on Friday, citing Director General of Customs Sarath Nonis.

Nonis said that this is the first time customs has generated revenue of over LKR1 trillion.

He noted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has set a revenue target of LKR1.534 trillion (USD5 billion) for the country in 2024 and expressed confidence in meeting this goal.
