Spotlight on young agro entrepreneurs at Career Expo

The Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Career Expo 2022 came to a close on August 18 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas with two briefings at the Musyawarah Hall.

A briefing on the ‘Aspirations of Young Agro Entrepreneurs’ was held in the morning while the ‘Alumni Sharing Session’ took place in the afternoon.

The morning session saw briefings by Agrometro Private Company co-founder Norisa Azuma binti Mohammad Norazmi and Akmal Asmaan Agro Farm co-founder Mohamad Akmal Asmaan bin Haji Asmali. The briefing was moderated by UNISSA Faculty of Agriculture lecturer Muhammad Khairul Hidayatullah bin Haji Basir.

Some 42 UNISSA students and nine alumni; 32 Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) students; and 41 Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School (SMALHB) students were present to attend the talks.

The afternoon session saw briefings by four UNISSA alumni – Syariah Affairs Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Family Advice Service Senior Officer Mohammad Dini bin Haji Morsidi; Attorney General’s Chambers’ Legal Counsel and Prosecuting Officer Sabrina binti Haji Mahmud; Bersih Solutions co-founder Khairul Hazmi bin Haji Munir; and Wings & Drumettes co-founder Nur Hakimah binti Madali.

It was chaired by UNISSA’s Faculty of Shariah and Law Year 4 student Nur Faizah binti Mohammad Khairol Azmi.

It was attended by 65 UNISSA students and 12 alumni as well as the public.

The event concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony to agencies involved in the UNISSA Career Expo 2022 presented by the UNISSA Student Affairs and Alumni Assistant Rector Dr Hajah Lilly Suzanna binti Haji Shamsu.
