Spotlight on smart cities

The ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN) held its fifth annual meeting via video conference on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed latest developments and achievements of smart city projects and initiatives.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Ir Haji Mohd Nazri bin Haji Mohd Yusof, attended the meeting.

Brunei Darussalam shared the progress of a number of projects including the three flagship projects of Digital Economy Masterplan: Digital ID, Digital Payment and National Information Hub.

Brunei Darussalam also presented the summary activities of ASCN 2021 which was under Brunei Darussalam’s chairmanship.

The meeting also discussed the deliverables for 2022 and cooperation with external partners as well as agreed to publish the ASCN Monitoring and Evaluation Report 2022 and the subsequent reports on the existing ASCN webpage and future ASCN online portal.
