The Patient Education Programme 2023 was organised to provide awareness on maintaining a healthy heart, Gleneagles JPMC Chief Operating Officer ‘Izzul Hamzi bin Haji Jomari said.
It also emphasised on the importance of lifestyle changes, especially proper exercise and food intake control, as well as complying with the instructions on taking medication and quitting smoking, he said at the 5th Patient Education Programme 2023 at Gleneagles JPMC yesterday.
Gleneagles JPMC senior staff nurse Norhidayatie binti Haji Awang Matasan spoke on ‘Introduction to Heart Failure’; Gleneagles JPMC physiotherapist Macullum Mak Geng Cheng on ‘Guidelines for National Physical Activity 2022’; and Gleneagles JPMC senior dietitian Nor Arfah binti Mohd Taib on ‘Mindful Eating’.
The programme also served as a platform to educate patients on the importance of a heart healthy lifestyle.
It is a yearly event organised by the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit (CRU), Gleneagles JPMC. – Rokiah Mahmud
