    Spirit of Ramadhan charity continues

    The spirit of charity during the holy month of Ramadhan continues as organisations, companies and communities donate to orphans, underprivileged families and noteworthy causes.

    Yesterday, 594 orphans received donations from the Brunei Darussalam National Orphans Fund and Tutong District Welfare Fund for Orphans.

    Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour.

    Orphans who obtained excellent results in the Primary School Assessment (PSR) and the Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) examinations also received prizes.

    Meanwhile, the Kampong Sengkurong ‘B’ Village Consultative Council in collaboration with Arzwanina Sdn Bhd made donations to 246 orphans on Tuesday.

    Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Zainol bin Mohamed was the guest of honour.

    The orphans comprised those living in Mukim Sengkurong.

    The donation ceremony was held to glorify the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration and is part of the village consultative council’s annual Ramadhan activities.

    Yesterday, Syarikat Aziz Latif Transport Sdn Bhd held an Infaq programme for the orphans and underprivileged families in the Tutong District at Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque.

    LegCo member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan was the guest of honour.

    On Tuesday, the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque takmir Committee in collaboration with Kampong Kilanas Village Consultative Council made a donation to 14 orphans in the village.

    Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan was the guest of honour.

    Meanwhile, the Salma Jaya Company donated medical equipment to the Rimba Dialysis Centre yesterday, which included a hospital bed, four wheelchairs and six haemodialysis reclining chairs.

    Salma Jaya’s General Manager Haji Abdullah bin Haji Metassim handed over the supplies to Acting Chief Executive Officer of Renal Services Hajah Wan Aslina binti Haji Ibrahim. The contribution was part of the company’s initiatives to engage in the community.
