Seventy-two mosques, suraus and religious halls received BND80,100 in contribution from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) for mosque takmir activities in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, in his capacity as the Acting Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors, presented cheques to imams and mosque officers during a ceremony at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, as member of Yayasan Board of Directors and Chairman of the Yayasan Aid Review, and Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, in her capacity as the Acting Yayasan Managing Director were also present.
Meanwhile, Serikandi Group of Companies handed over bottled mineral water and dates to 16 mosques and religious halls in Belait District during a ceremony at the Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque yesterday.
Acting Belait District Officer Mohammad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed, the guest of honour, was welcomed on arrival by Serikandi Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad.
Company representative Shaikh Ahmed Khairi bin Shaikh Haji Khalid, Acting Head of Religious Officers in Belait District Mohammad Noorsuffian bin Haji Yahya and Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Haslan bin Haji Shahbudin also attended.
Tokens of appreciation were also presented to Mohammad Yassin, Mohammad Noorsuffian and Haji Haslan.
Among the mosques and religious halls that received the contributions were Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque, Pekan Seria Mosque, STKRJ Lorong Tiga Selatan Mosque Seria, Zainab Mosque Lumut, Kampong Sungai Liang Mosque, Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque, Kampong Bukit Sawat Mosque, Al-Mashhor Mosque, Kampong Labi Mosque, Kampong Sukang Religious Hall, Kampong Melilas Religious Hall, Kampong Merangking Religious Hall, Surau Ar-Rahmah at the Third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force Lumut Camp, Police Headquarters’ surau at Panaga and Surau Haji Ibrahim.
