While watching the FIFA international friendly matches between Brunei and Sri Lanka on June 8 and June 11 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, I noticed a group of ‘Ultras’ fans in the crowd.
I appreciated their effort to provide continuous support to the national team with their chanting while keeping the rest of us entertained.
Their chanting mainly consisted of lyrics from random songs. While I have no issue with that, I would rather prefer that as local football fans, we find songs that are related to our country.
May I suggest our patriotic song Bendera Negara for chanting? The stadium management could even play the song before and during half time to get the fans familiar with it enough to sing along.
