ANN/THE STAR – A boat loaded with some 200 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar landed on the shores of Teluk Yu, near Ayer Hangat in Langkawi, in the wee hours of yesterday.
Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Langkawi chairman Chen Liau Weng when contacted said, “I received information from a villager that the boat landed at Teluk Yu, Ayer Hangat at about 3am.
“The landing location is near a cement factory.
“I was told there were 200 of them including men, women and children.
“This is the first Rohingya boat landing in Langkawi just three days of the beginning of the new year 2025.”
