Zulkefli bin Abdullah Yumbah has embarked on a solo journey of walking across all four districts under ‘Program Ekspedisi Solo Jelajah Negara Brunei Darussalam’ to commemorate the upcoming 40th National Day celebration.
The special project under CARE Association is supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Youth and Sports Department and Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
To mark the start of the long walk, Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Department Haji Mohd Rosfadilah bin Haji Yusly handed over the national flag to Zulkefli near Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge.
Zulkefli began his journey from Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, before moving to Sungai Besar to kayak across the river to the Temburong District, where he walked to Kampong Puni, Kampong Bukok and Kampong Bang Bulan. Today, he will kayak back to Sungai Besar, followed by a journey to Kampong Kapok and towards Tutong District using Muara-Tutong Highway.
Tomorrow, Zulkefli will reach Tutong District and Sungai Liang Mosque in the Belait District the following day.
He will return to the Tutong District on February 19 through the rural areas.
He is expected to complete his journey by February 21. Zulkefli is expected to cover more than 400 kilometres during the expedition.
