Social interactions go digital

Joshua Estrella Gatapia won first prize in the English category while Arshia binti Tariq came first in the Malay category at Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (MDPMAMB)’s recent annual Multimedia Speech Competition, organised by the Student Representative Council, ExCo of Public Relations at the college’s Students Learning and Service Centre.

The competition, divided into two categories – Malay and English – allowed students to voice out their opinions and views as they showcased their talents by incorporating multimedia into their speech presentation.

The students were able to share ideas and viewpoints on the topic ‘In what ways have technological advances influenced social interactions?”, and in Malay, ‘Bagaimanakah kemajuan teknologi dapat mempengaruhi interaksi sosial?

MDPMAMB Principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad attended as the guest of honour. The college’s administrative team, tutors, students and the 16 preliminary participants were present.

The event also saw invited speaker Miftaahu Qisthina Ad-Daamia @ Syadiah As-Syakirah binti Yusof delivering a motivational talk followed by speeches from each finalists from both categories.

The event concluded with the winners receiving their prizes.
