The Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) received a visit from a delegation from the Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies (SOASCIS), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on Wednesday.
BKISHHB Deputy Director Haji Muhammad Ibrahim bin Haji Juma’at welcomed the delegation led by SOASCIS Director Dr Mohd Hairul Azrin bin Haji Besar. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborations in various fields such as research and provide exposure for international academic and administrative staffs as well as SOASCIS students, in line with the mission and vision of SOASCIS as an Islamic studies centre.
BKISHHB preserves and exhibits valuable Islamic heritage and plays a role in the collection, research, study, development, and dissemination of Islamic knowledge.
At the same time, the institution aims to become a centre of Islamic knowledge to revive the culture of knowledge through scholarly activities with the involvement of higher education institutions.
Various Mushaf are from countries such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia and Spain are showcased at its galleries including the replica of Ahmed Syamsuddin Karahisari’s Al-Quran Stone and a 1,000-year-old Al-Qur’an.
