The short message service (SMS) Brunei Prihatin’s launch ceremony for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) for 2022-2023 and the handover of DANA donations to orphans nationwide in the form of coupons to purchase school supplies for DANA Orphans 2023 School Session was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, as Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees was the guest of honour.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, as a member of the DANA Board of Trustees was also present.
The SMS Brunei Prihatin for DANA aims to raise awareness among the community on caring for the orphans.
The project is also one of DANA’s efforts in diversifying ways for people to channel donations specifically to orphans.
The project will continue for nine months, from yesterday until September 14, 2023.
To facilitate SMS Brunei Prihatin for DANA, three telecommunication companies – Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST), Progresif Sdn Bhd and imagine Sdn Bhd – are providing the SMS service facilities.
Those wishing to contribute can donate BND100, BND50, BND20, BND15, BND10, BND5 or BND1 via SMS. Service charges for each SMS sent for a donation will be waived by the telecommunication companies.
To make a donation, type DANA followed by the donation amount without space and send to 38111 for DST and Progresif line users and 39999 for imagine subscribers.
