The public can now contribute to the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund via short messaging service (SMS) until December 20 after the service was launched yesterday by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman as the Chairman of Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund Collection and Withdrawal Committee.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang. Sales Director (Marketing) at DST Sdn Bhd Harpan bin Haji Yusof, Head of Public Relations and Communication at Progresif Sdn Bhd Hafiza binti Mohamad, and Vice President (Sales and Consumer Experience) at imagine Sdn Bhd Irshad Ahamed were also present along with Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the MoRA Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, as the Head of Secretariatof the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund.
As of February, the fund had collected BND29,019,404.24.
Since its establishment, the fund has one extension and three maintenance projects totalling BND7,640,026.94.
Meanwhile several construction and building extension projects have also been planned with the cooperation of the Public Works Department (JKR) at the Ministry of Development.
A video presentation on the SMS service was also held followed by the sending of contribution via SMS by the attendees.

The establishment of the fund is intended for Muslims to invest in the days hereafter by contributing their wealth as a pious act to intensify good deeds.
