Sports Medicine and Research Centre (SMRC) and the Coaching and Sports Development Unit Combined Team emerged winners of the Director of Youth and Sports Cup after defeating Infrastructure and Estate Division ‘A’ 2-1 at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Friday.
The tournament aimed to foster closer ties among officers and staff in the department besides practising an active and healthy lifestyle as well as reviving the competition since the last time it was hosted in 2019. It also provided an opportunity to select players who have the potential to represent the Department of Youth and Sports as preparation for future futsal tournaments.
Six teams took part in the competition- Sports Medicine and Research Centre and Coaching and Sports Development Unit Combined Team, JBS Tutong, JBS Temburong, Sports Division, Infrastructure and Estate Division ‘A’ and Infrastructure and Estate Division ‘B’.
The tournament was organised by the Department of Youth and Sports through the Infrastructure and Estate Division.
Acting Director of Youth and Sports Haji Mohamad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly presented the prizes.
